Sometimes the inspiration for a room design can come from a treasured heirloom or a new acquisition. Just such items were the starting point for the design of this Hallbrook dining room. Two pair of wooden screens, covered in an antique Chinese wall covering, where purchased by the owner at a KCET Public Television Auction in Los Angeles.

These unique screens provided the texture and colors used to create a perfect backdrop for the late 19th Century Victorian dining room table and sideboard passed down from his wife's Grandmother. Walls upholstered in a bold floral print with a black background, complement the screens colors and create a warm setting for the walnut furniture.
